One of the most common questions we get here at Aqua Living Pools is how long pool construction takes. Homeowners tend to be in the planning stages when considering this question, but it isn’t a straightforward answer.
There are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration when thinking about how long pool construction will take in your home, including:

  • Where you are in the planning process.
  • Whether you are building a new pool or wanting to redesign your current pool
  • Where on your property the pool will sit
  • The time of year (weather conditions can play into the timeframe)
  • Any building regulations

During the design process, we will be able to give you a better idea of how long the process will take, from design to you swimming to avoid any disappointment.
Planning is one of the most time-consuming aspects of installing a pool and can sometimes be one of the longest processes. For a fairly straightforward design, it may just be a couple of weeks, but for a more complex design, it could take longer.

How is a Concrete Pool Constructed?

A concrete pool takes longer to install when compared to a fibreglass pool, but it does mean you get a customised pool design.
Firstly, the area for the pool will be excavated and then work will being on drainage, plumbing and framework. The concrete will then be sprayed, and time given for curing. The pool has to be cured before further work – tiling, coping, paving, fencing and so on can be finalised.
While it does take longer for a concrete pool to be installed, if the design element is important to you, a concrete pool is the only way to go.
